Hi. This is Mike with Absolute Painting. I want to talk to you today about pressure washing. Now, you may want to do some pressure washing at your home, perhaps on your house, on your driveway, on your deck. Here are three tips to pay attention to, to make sure that you do a good job.
Tip number one
Make you use the appropriate degree of tip. Now, the lower the number, the more narrow the focus of the spray will be. For example, if you use a 40 degree tip, you’ve got a 40 degree angle, and that’s fairly wide. Now, the red tip usually is the 0 degree tip, and that’s going to really blast in a very small area. Try to avoid using this tip, as you’ll most likely damage the surface you’re trying to wash.
Tip number two
Make sure you use an appropriate cleaner. For mildew, use a mildewcide. What you do is wet the area down with the cleaner, let it side for 5 to 10 minutes, and then wash it from top to bottom. If you have just a regular house, a lot of times, just water will work fine. If you feel like it’s extra dirty, you can use a house wash. You can use that on your driveway also.
Number three
The tip is top to bottom, or from dirtiest to cleanest. If you’re washing your house, start at top and work your way down so that you’re not running dirt over areas that you’ve already cleaned. If you’re working on your driveway, typically try and start in the dirtiest area and work out from there.
