We refinished the kitchen cabinets in this Franklin County Heritage Home in Ottawa’s historic district. The customer wanted new, bolder colors, and a professional finish. We covered up the floors, counters, and windows, and made plastic “curtains” to contain the dust in the kitchen. We removed the doors and drawers, sanded them, refinished them in our shop, and then brought them back to be reinstalled at the end.
Meanwhile, we sanded everything on site to smooth out the thick roller nap marks and remove the old paint runs and drips. We made a fresh canvas to work with by applying a full-scale prime coat, and then topped it off with a nice, clean ivory selected by the customer. Once everything was put back together, it really popped! This cabinet refinish really breathed new life into this old kitchen.
