Our team recently painted Lawrence’s newest car wash, the Tsunami Express on East 23rd Street. We worked with the project manager from Peak Construction in Illinois to coordinate with the other trades. Outside, we painted the metal entry doors on the car wash itself and the storage shed at the north end of the parking lot, and the yellow pipe bollards. Inside, we primed the cinder block walls in the mechanical area, office, restrooms and “dog wash” bays with Loxon Block Surfacer, which we sprayed on thick and worked it into the pores with a thick nap roller. The walls were then topcoated with Sherwin Williams ProMar 200 Semi-Gloss interior latex. The floors in the dog wash bays then got a coat of epoxy with flakes broadcast on the wet paint, which we then sealed in with a glossy clear coat.
